Cider/Piggy Weekend
Information
Friday July 29, 2022 – – Sunday July 31, 2022 Entry Opens: February 25, 2022 Transfer Deadline: July 11, 2022
White Star Running returns once again to the home of Cranborne Chase Cider and its amazing countryside scenery to host the popular Cider weekend of races.
There are two Frolic-style events to enjoy over the weekend. On the Friday we have one of our popular Sessions. This is different to a normal Frolic – the event runs for 8 hours and you can turn up any time! Then we have our 12-hour Frolic on the Saturday, which means you can clock up as many laps as you fancy around the gorgeous farm surroundings. Finish the weekend off with a Piggy Plod – 10km for adults, 4km for kids.
What is a Session?
Over a 8-hour period, you do as much running as you want. Complete at least one lap to get your medal and goody bag. Sessions are just like Frolics – relaxed events with a fun atmosphere. Everyone is a Solo runner and you can do as many laps as you want.
What is a Frolic?
Over a 12-hour period, you do as much running as you want. Complete at least one lap to get your medal and goody bag. Frolics are relaxed events with a fun atmosphere. You can run in teams of 4, 3, 2 or go solo. Solo runners can do as many laps as they want. If you’re in a team, only one of you runs at a time, then you swap over as and when you feel like it. For more details see our dedicated Frolic page here.
Camping is available for this weekend, and there’s plenty of cider too! Along with a band on Saturday evening for a full weekends entertainment.

The Cider Sessions event is a lapped 8-hour race consisting of a 6km route, made up of a variety of field tracks around the farm. That means you’ll need to run 7 laps for a marathon.
The joy of a Session, and different to a Frolic, is that you can turn up and run at any time during the 8-hour race period. Cider Sessions gives you an extra day of racing, which you can fit in around work (or book the day off!). Maybe it’s a chance to squeeze in a marathon, or a half, or a 10k, and do three races over the whole weekend! There are prizes for furthest ran, both male and female
