Giants Head Marathon 2022
27 November 2021
*SOLD OUT*
White Star Running's flagship event weekend returns and as always is so popular, a large waiting list already exists. Winning several awards for Britain's Best Marathon over the years, it's easy to see why runners love the feel of this event. Taking over the village of Sydling St Nicholas, the villagers welcome runners making them part of the community for the weekend.
The marathon route is a very, very challenging hilly but beautiful course running through the Sydling and Cerne valleys running around and under the famous Cerne Giant. It is certainly not for the faint hearted, it is a tough race, with some steep climbs, sharp descents and the most amazing views to reward yourself with. If you’re not sure what to expect, here's a race review to help you get a feel for the race.
The race starts at 8:30am.
There will be hot food and drinks pre- and post-race served by by members of the village in the Bar and Village Hall, a short walk from the finish on the village green.
The cut-off time for the marathon is 7 hours and our minimum age requirement for entry is 18 years old. For general race questions, see our FAQs.
Prizes are awarded on the line for the first three male and female runners, with all finishers receiving their medal, race muff and T-shirt for their race goodies.
Camping can be booked in our exclusive 'athletes' village' here. Alternatively, there is a list of local accommodation here: Accommodation Listings.
