Along with the great news that we have a New Dorset Invader we are also holding a Virtual Dorset Invader for those of you that wanted to achieve one of the other medals and felt they may have missed out.   So if you fancy earning yourself an old half marathon medal then sign up here!

We are running the virtual event from the 1st April to 30th April 2019 – so you have 4 weeks to run or walk as many miles as you can!  Included with your medal will be a Dorset Invader Muff.  Entries will be open up to the 1st April 2019 and will cost you £15.  Submissions must be made by email to accounts@whitestarrunning.co.uk by the 17th May 2019.  This can be a picture taken from your strava/garmin etc along with details on how you would like to receive the medal ie collection or post.  If you have issues in forwarding on your information, please email with any questions.

Following the success of the Virtual Bovington race we have decided this time to support Helping Hounds (www.helpfulhounds.org.uk ).  Many of you may be aware of one of our fellow runners Kim Bailey and her daughter Phoebe.  They recently were donated a dog to assist Phoebe with coping with day to day stresses.  Our aim is to raise money to help go towards further training of Whisper in order to deal with the Phoebe’s autism.  

Brief Rules:

1) Any age can enter (we do ask that under 18's are appropriately supervised by an adult)

2) Run or Walk as many miles as you like

3) The virtual race will start on the 1st April and finish 30th April

4) You DO NOT have to complete a half-marathon to achieve the medal!!

5) When you submit your mileage please advise if you would like to collect at the Dorset Invader race weekend or receive via the post

 Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs: (www.helpfulhounds.org.uk)

Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs is a local Charity, based in Bournemouth, covering Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, which is dedicated to training Assistance Dogs for Children and Teenagers.

The beneficial impact of a strong relationship between Human and Dog has been well known for thousands of years and the partnership of a well trained dog. Whisper and Phoebe are one of the Partnerships being supported by Helpful Hounds at the moment.  We are looking to raise funds to support the training of Whisper to assist with Phoebe’s autism.  Please have a look at the news feed for information from Phoebe's mum Kim.

 If you are missing a half medal from your collection then please participate here!  Don't forget to advise whether are would to collect or have your medal posted.  Obviously pick up means less cost to us and more money for our proposed Charity.  Kim, Phoebe and Whisper will be at the event and will hopefully assist in giving out the medals to those that choose to collect.
